Three years ago, a stubborn breakout along my hairline forced me to ask a simple question: What’s actually in this stuff I’m putting in my hair every day?
I didn’t realize it at the time, but that one question would change everything.
Where it All Started
After months of battling stubborn breakouts, I finally traced the cause back to my hair gel. Determined to fix it, I searched high and low for a cleaner, more “natural” option—something I could actually feel good about using. When it finally arrived, I scanned it with the Yuka app... and it scored worse than the one I was trying to replace.
That was my wake-up call. All the buzzwords on the label—“clean,” “natural,” “safe”—meant nothing. It was just greenwashing.
That moment sent me down a rabbit hole of ingredient research, where I realized how rare truly clean, high-performance products for men actually were. That’s when the idea for HygieneLab was born.
Built from the Ground Up
This was the year everything came to life. We partnered with a world-class cosmetic chemist to turn a personal frustration into a product line men could finally trust. But we didn’t just want “better.” We wanted the cleanest, most effective formulas on the market—with no compromises.
We set the bar high from day one:
